Default yge 160 and hkIII 4035 560

i am testing this on my logo 600 for initial spool up and set up and only hooking a 6s pack and i am getting a bad startup,is this because im useing a 6s pack for testing or do i have a bad setting somewhere or is the 6s pack not enough for the motor? esc settings are timing 6deg,pwm i think it is at 8,and startup power at 1-32 auto, should i change the startup power? thanks

I just put that same motor in my logo 600 with a 120HV runs perfect.
You should start with the timing at 18deg. I have startup power at auto for now and it's smooth.

the specs for the motor say 5deg so 18 will be fine? could that be why the motor runs goofy?

When I first got my YGE last year I was really confused about the timing settings.
I was used to the Castle controllers and thought 18deg was crazy. In the Castle software the timing "number" does not translate to degrees but rather just an indicator of low or high.
I thought I should have been at the low timing numbers as well, but for the outrunner motors 18 degrees is the default and a very good start, it has worked well for me.

8khz for the PWM is also a good start you can then try 9 or 10 and see if the motor runs better after changing the timing first.

Yeah I had it on my 4525 at 18 degrees, I know I won't get the proper kv value on 6s but the throttle should be smooth right? Its like it has 3 stages and struggles to get up to speed

I don't think running off a 6s pack will allow you to setup much of anything except for powering your BEC and setting up the mechanicals. As far as the esc goes, just change it to 18deg and give it a shot. It's likely the cause of your issue.
