Default can you share IKON/Brain setting for Protos 500 ?

I am so far testing the IKON (just took off the BeastX) and use Default setting , I believe a lot of us have IKON / Brain on the Birds and happy with it ,,I am new in FBL and have no one to help so Tuning is like lost in Jungle at night try to find the way back home , wish we can share setting like in Beastx Forum does and it will help us tuning it better

I'll try to Video some basic fly so we see and help me Adjust Cyclic and Tail Gain issue .
I'll post my Mechanical and IKON setting tomorrow
JOHN.

Tail gain and cyclic gain should be reasonably easy to tune. Just go higher on the gain until it wags, then back off 5 points or so. Same thing for cyclic. Just up the gain until you get a wobble or a bounce after cyclic inputs and go back a few points.
You can do this in a hover, but if you can, fast forward flight will make the tail wag if the gain is to high.
Fast backwards loopings will make the tail blowout if something is wrong.

my IKon/Brain is not on the Protos but it was very easy to tune. The easiest FBL system I've flown to date. Everything is pretty much stock on cyclic, except a bit of extra points to the max rates, feed forward, and Agility. Tail tuning took less than 1 pack of short hops and tests to get the stops to behave the same and piros to be symmetric in FFF.

can you post your setting ? I not as lucky as you that for the last few days , I try to find out what cause the Head some time shudder in fly and hover . today I have time to look at the Tail..

-tail kick out on pitch pump .
-small wag in hover
-bound on elevator tictoc
-still some bound on hard stop
-invert backward hurricane and loop seem fine

- HS :2900rpm IKON governor
- TX gain :72% ( IKON show 38% Heading hold )
- pitch and Cyclic precom activated
- Cyclic Gain :34% , Agility :90% ( hard 3D fly style )
- Tail rotation speed : 600
-Tail dynamic : 50

My Brain is set up on the P6, a 600mm heli. The settings are gonna be of limited utility for a Protos.

Here are some ideas though:
  • slow disk shudder in the hover > decrease the cyclic P gain (if your HS is above 2400RPM, otherwise, increase HS)
  • slow tail wag in the hover and kick in PP > increase tail P gain until you see rapid wags, then go back a few points (assuming your mechanics are smooth and slop free)
  • bounce on elevator tic-toc > decrease elevator D gain
  • bounce on piro stop > decrease tail D gain

I'm in the same boat. What settings did you end up using?

Working on tuning the icon for on a rail sport flight, to include flips rolls, stall turns, a bit of fast backward etc. Havent made it to hurricanes or tic tocs yet.
one thing I found out if you drop the agility down too low, it will have cyclic shudder regardless of P gain settings went from 55 to 20 on aileron no change, moved the agility up 5 points no more shudder.
i dontknow what others say but i think i will bring the agility on up a few points, Then work on the head gains.
Tail is pretty good except for I think the Int. Gain needs to come up theres a little tail twitch on moderate pitch up from the ground, and it goes back left about 4 inches when switching T-hold on.

Suggestions?

All I had to do was run the wizard, choose 3D, went into advanced menu and raised tail rotation rate to 550 and called it good. TX gain (DX8) is around 38.

Hopefully someone can give you tips on tail kick during pitch pumps. My setup has a small kick on large pitch pumps that I'm willing to live with. Precomps don't help at all and actually seems to make it a little worse.

I'm running default gov gains on the YGE (gov store w/freewheel) but I've heard the the gov can still have negative tendencies with the tail in some circumstances. I'm also running 13 deg collective pitch with 72.5mm tails and there's only so much counter torque available when dumping full collective in, especially if you're hovering in a cross wind.
