I don't use loctite on the crank nut. I don't crank down on it either. If it came off on you in flight I suppose it wouldn't hurt to put a few drops of red on it and torque it down a bit more. I know I'd rather have a crank nut that's a bit on the too tight side than on the loose side. Although I must warn you to not tighten to much or you run the risk o twisting the crank shaft.

Weird, I've always heard you need to really crank it down. I wonder how hot the crankshaft gets. Maybe blue loctite liquifies like the head bolts.
I'd rather not use red loctite if I don't have to, but I also don't like tearing down the heli every now and then just to tighten it.
