Hi folks,

I've just bought a new Trex 600N, it was flying fine when I bought it but needed setting up for my TX. I bound to it fine, and set all my swash mixing and servo travel directions, but on the advice of others in my club and on these forums, decided to re-do the full setup from scratch.

My first step was to try to update to v4.0 firmware. Everything seemed to be going well until around 3/4 of the way through the update process the 3GX lights went out and the firmware tool reported "failed to write".

I left it a good 5-10 mins, but it didn't want to recover, and ever since then I can't get any life from it. I've tried with the radio bound, with every cable disconnected, and pretty much everything I can think of.

Any ideas? Is there some trick I'm not aware of, or has Align's firmware update just bricked this 3GX?

The board will need to be replaced. This exact thing happened to me. I contacted Tim at assurance RC and I mailed him my 3GX... they are in SoCal.

I had a new board with my 3GX back in a few days. Free of charge.

There is an instruction how to revive failed update 3GX unit on Align website.

Try this before sending the unit back to Align which may be a pain depends on where you are.

After it gets revived, you can reflash to V4.0 again. Every time you are installing new software on your PC, make sure to remove the program and reboot before installing a new PC software. Additionally, make sure your PC is powered, not just on battery(laptop). Lastly, 3GX needs to be connected to a receiver or satellite and bounded to transmitter.

The 3gx not respond at all with all led are turn on solid.
