''A firmware update for the SK-LCD unit to enable it to work with the SK-720 is complete and working, and going through final checkouts over the next few days. It will be posted by the middle of next week.''

I wouldn't make it too tall or it will be swaying like a skyscraper in an earth quake.

If you do decide to go with the two metal plates, I would use the 2mm Futaba gyro pads instead of the 3mm ones that come with the SK720.

I don't think skookum sells the metal plates separately...yet, but I guess if you have access to a hardware store or a metal works distributor you can just ask them to cut a couple to size for you. In fact, just take the measurement of 2 pieces and ask them to find the dimension for a single piece then you won't even need to epoxy them together.

alexf1852:

I don't think it would be wise to use 2 futaba tapes. its gonna be too wobbly. I've tried it before. So far the new spartan black gyro tapes seem to be the best.

I didn't mean 2 pieces, one on top of the other. I meant Futaba has 2mm thick tape where as the stock Skookum tape is 3mm thick. I wouldn't recommend one use 2 metal plates either, but if someone insists on using two, then using the 2mm thick Futaba tape or Spartan would be better than using the 3mm.

I found that the stock tape is too spongy. I crashed my heli a couple of weeks ago and it went nose first into the pavement from about 20 ft high (ESC cut power to the motor). The weight of the sk720 with one metal plate attached with 3M mounting tape cleanly sheared the 3mm foam tape off the heli boom block.

That would be the Aileron Control Rate under the 'Cyclic 1or 2" Tab.

Ok sk experts. I have the 720 on my Heli. Default 3d profile loaded.

The tail gain is perfect no wags at all and piros and stops without any bounce. No issues there at all.

The problem I have is tail kicks clockwise (to the left) on hard punchouts.

I changed the collective gain from 25% to 30 but it's still same. All head and tail settings are stock default values.

What can I tweak to help this ?

Double check your travel limits on the slider - it should be just below binding. Also add Collective Mix to counter using the Setup screen for the bank your using.

Thanks. the travel limits were the culprit. I used the wizard to set center left and right limits.

but after it was done the left and right limits still were binding quite a bit so I manually adjusted the left and right settings till it was right at the endpoints with NO server noise.

No kicks anymore.. the heli flies like a dream now.. so much I am going to save up and get another sk720 for my outrage 550.

the current one is on my Outrage G5
