Yep, they both look great! I've got an Oat Insane canopy for my Faifa which never gets flown, but looks amazing. I also know where there's a similar Oat canopy for the Srimok, just need to persuade that person to sell it

I must admit I get a bit jealous when I see how good the newer stock heli canopies are for orientation. As Trillian has said before, the Kasama helis would also benefit from boom covers.

Hasn't everyone got a Ben Varley canopy! It's been great for winter flying with the G10 orange tail fin. It's really well painted, but there's so much filler and primer that it weighs a lot more than a stock TDR canopy.

Indeed! Yeah it's a great winter canopy but I was actually thinking just the other day that as the light gets better I can start flying with something different.

The TDR is quite visible anyway as it has such a big profile and thicker boom. The Faifa would be such a good heli for a covered boom / canopy combo like the new Align speed canopies or the JR Forza.

Those are both excellent Dw45 ! The nitro Srimok does look really cool the way the engine sits right in there and the canopy sweeps around it.

Thanks Oat.

Can you believe that this is still that canopy you painted for me back in 2010.

I crashed the original one which came with the kit sometime in 2011 and since than been using your canopy only.
Srimok 90N remains my favourite helicopter.

After yesterdays storms in the UK it was really calm today, so I managed a sneaky couple of flights with a new to me canopy!

Next job is to swap to the low rider head setup.

Out flying the more blade Srimok after a motor rebuild! The motor is just about run-in and singing nicely.

I made a rookie error, completely forgetting to check the CoG. I was using an Opti 5000 RX pack, which was way too nose heavy.

It was rolling really nicely, though flips felt horrible, It was only when I pumping the pitch that I realised why it nosed-down with heavy negative pitch. I’ve swapped to an Opti 2150 RX pack, which is perfect.

Back out again today, to see how much difference the correct CoG makes to a flybarred heli... the answer is a BIG difference! It's not a good day for flying here in the UK, very cold, wet and windy. Definitely not good for flybarred. I also found that I had slightly uneven pitch amounts, though that's all sorted now. I thought I would also use the correct canopy for this airframe.

We will be selling this airframe soon, so if you're interested just message me!
