Default Hitec HG-5000 problems

Hi,

Just bought this gyro plus servo, and it just won't work. It only buzzes a bit when i give it rudder, even though I have gone through the gyro/DX7 menus acording to some videos i downloaded on this site on the Logictech 2100T (same as the Hitech gyro), and have adjusted acording to Brian Tucker et al postings.

Could it be, that the BEC on my TREX 450SE V2 (6V) causes the problems? Operating voltage is 4.5 - 5.5V for the gyro system.

Best,
Claus

If it's buzzing, you might have some binding.
Pop the TR rod off and do a function check. If it's still buzzing go into program mode on the gyro and reset the TR limits.
That's where I would start. If it's still buzzing after that, I would suspect the servo has some issues with internal binding..

What Kind of Servo are you Running?

Thx. I'm using the Hitech HSG-5083MG that comes in the set. It lists performance at 4.8V - that's why I get suspecious.

Best,
Claus

Tech specs Look good.
4.8 @ .07 is pretty quick.
I haven't used that one before. I'd check the servo, and linkages for binding.

Check the rudder channel.

Thx for answers. First, if the servo is only for 4.8V, I need a BEC. Trying to find out if that is the problem. Second. what do you mean by checking the rudder channel? Plug in another servo and give rudder? Good idea. Will do that.

Cheers,
Claus

Rudder channel works just fine. Next step is an analog servo in the gyro. Updates to come.

Claus

Are you sure your RX recognized the TX type? If it didn't, all you get is the servo buzzing!
Mark.

Thx Mark, but seems to work (almost) now. Just need adjusting and a hover I guess. Let's see... maybe I have more questions as I get on with it

Cheers,
Claus

The first thing you HAVE to do with that gyro is to set it for the servo type. If you don't, it won't with the provided Hitec servo. That SX centers @ 900us.
