It's a known issue. Mikado upgraded the idler bearing to a wider one. It's the same part number as before. You just have to contact the store and make sure they send you the updated one.

If it's a problem why are the still selling the smaller one?
I just ordered one and received the same small one. Pretty annoying that they would continue to sell one that lets the belt jump.

I am using the original tensioner from an original kit, not upgrades....belt has never jumped with 2500 HS.
It is a "known issue" if your belt tension or setup is incorrect....

What belt tension and/or setup is known to cause it? Is there a specific tension and setup guaranteed never to be an issue for anyone? Bearing in mind that in some countries the temperature can fluctuate 10 degrees C in a few hours, causing the boom to expand or shrink

That's what I'm saying. The ikea instructions don't tell you what a good setup actually is. I read some posts hang the heli with a lipo and tighten it down. Other pull hard and tighten.

Use the same tension as every other belt, how you get there is your choice.

You can adjust by moving the boom and then fine tune by moving the tail case back

Pull till the tension drags on the drivetrain then loosen till the drag goes away. If you live in climates that fluctuate a lot, either get a CF boom or check before you fly and tighten if needed as part of the preflight check...

Now after that description I think mine is to tight My blades slow rather rapidly when I spin the head. But I still hear belt slap in the boom when flying so I thought it was to loose.

So what's worse Laughings to tight or to loose?

If the belt is slapping in the boom, it's too loose.

Tighten it to the point that you can shake the tail and not hear it hitting the boom.

Too loose is always worse because it can jump/jam.
