Default Will a YS50 be large enough for a furry 55

I have a quick question about motors. I am purchasing a Furry 55 and I am trying to decide what motor to use. I do not fly 3D just basic sport flying with loops, roles circles and inverted flight.
Also own a velocity 50 that is very close to the same weight on the 55. It fly’s very well on an YS 50 motor. Fits my needs well.

I realize that the heli was designed for a 55 size motor, but?

Do you think a YS 50 would be enough power or should I go with a OS 55.

Default great, thanks for the info

Thanks, I like my other YS50 so i will buy one for the furry build as well. It's easy to adjust the mixture ans cheaper to maintain. i will also be running the V-bar gov. It works so much better than the others, and makes the motor feel bigger.

this is my first MA build, i am told it is a very well fitted heli, looking foward to the build.

You are in for such a treat, I cannot get enough flight time with mine. I am at 9 hours 37 mins and can't wait to fly again tomorrow.

Hi all, it is clear that the 50 engines are enough for very good headspeeds and power, so then, why is the need for a 56-57 size are so popular also? For more speed? Power? I think it's related to the thread. Thanks!

If you had a sports car with 400 horsepower, that would be really awesome, but wouldn't it be even more awesome with 450 horsepower?? That's why the 55's and 56's are popular

For what it's worth, the Fury 55 was designed and prototyped with "regular" 50 size engines. It wasn't until it was nearly ready for production that the "big bore" engines were available.

Thanks, I ended up going with the OS55 Hyper. I have over 15 flights on the Heli and she fly’s great. So well I had to purchase the furion 6. Tweeking some tail
Issues I have with the V-bar, so I will have both of them set up very soon

Default Power trip

The YS55 will give you really really really big loops.

It is a great engine.
