Default Curious about a "Thrasher" Helicopter, people flying in the IE

Hello!
I have a gaui 425 that I had built a little while ago with pretty good radio equipment(Airtronics RDS8000, JR 770 3D, futaba 9257, hitec servos) and hadn't really flown it since I repaired it after some crashes. I had gotten pretty decent with helicopters on the simulator and was able to so some basic patternwork and aerobatics. That was 2 years ago. My heli has since sat idle.
I want to get back into this hobby, as seeing the beautiful Gaui in my room has been a tease. So I picked up a basic FP blade msr ripoff, and started working with it. I can hover with it for packs and packs at a time and make it go where I want without crashing. I am looking for a "transition" bird that is Collective Pitch that I can also thrash around. I am looking very intensely at the mcpx. It looks like a solid option at the moment, since it is durable and cheap to fix. Any Opinions?
Lastly, I am here in Corona, CA, soon to be Moreno Valley, CA, and I am looking to see if there is anyone out here who likes to fly helicopters in the area, since it seems that my local heli store has shut it's doors.

Thanks!
Paul

Hey paul, I got an mCPx for the same reason a while ago, and its a great bird! Its very nimble and aggressive but with a good radio it can be toned down to fly almost like a FP heli to suit any beginner. I really recommend getting it as it will take many crashes and yield very low repair costs!
