I have flown edge 813's, spin red tip 800's. Edge blades are heavy. Spins are good but have some retreating blade stalls on ff. Going to try the align 800's. Check with Gary wright. He had been using the aligns and is very happy with them from all of his posts

Gary went with the Align only because he could not source the Spins. At IRCHA he told me the Align 800's were too wide and loaded up the control system authority with his style of flying. Align does have a lighter 780 that might be doable.

correct Ben, but after flying both back to back,.. I actually prefer the align's. Retreating blade stall at high speed isn't as much of an issue as it was with the spins. My backorders on spin 800's finally did come in, so I have a few sets occupying the wall of my workshop now
The spins are a bit faster (not a lot, but noticable) in fast forward flight, but when they experience retreating blade stall it's far more aggressive/violent. Yes, I know, should be going 100mph at only 1600 , but thats my setup Once the setup was tweaked to accomodate different blades (you do need to do that when you change blades), the aligns don't load it up any more than the spins. They needed less cyclic to do the job than the spins, so I had them overpitched in the cyclic range. Gains also had to be tweaked a smidge.

I am using the Fun Tech 760s which fly really well and auto very well. I have a set of Align 800s and Edge 800s and like the 760s way better. I got them through RC Japan.
