the only thing I can think of is that you are actually using the multiple esc mode with a mutlicopter setting, while you in fact have attached only one esc... if you don't use the multiple esc mode, please ensure that in the menu "Mult.ESC Mode" you have selected "default" (go with the SELECT key to this menu, select with the NEXT/PREV keys the option "default", and hold down the SELECT key for at least 2 secs). olli

Yes, and from now on, OlliW will attack and offend everyone, who try to write a mobile app to flash a silabs chip using bluetooth.
Because now, he claims all rights on his new "invention".

Yes Olliw done a great thing a complete solution hardware multiple options /software and now android app. All based on hardware we can all get very cheaply if we don't have one and at same time use it for other things 'Littlemo's' arduinolink for SimonK's project and not forgeting hunderds of other projects using Atmel mcu's. With it bit of googling you could build one from your scrap box...blown ESC KK boards pretty much just about everything we use and break. All a matter of how much time/effort your willing to put in. My advice to anyone coming into this hobby and other related ones buy Arduino now because you need it at some point. And when i say cheap bear in mind takes seconds to change code to something other and after while My UNO cost me nothing.
And to you guys that write/design and support your projects on a daily basis. Thank you never seams enough. Thanks, Phil |

Problems Flashing DJI 30A ESC - (Turnigy Plush 30A)
Hi,
First of all I would like to say thanks for the great work and dedication. I am trying to flash DJI 30A ESCs and have used the Arduino Uno to successfully flash followed by Arduino Leonardo as a Servo Emulator to test the flashed ESCs. As far as I am aware, the DJI ESC is a Turnigy Plush 30A and I have successfully flashed a spare ESC accordingly, motors run up and all seems fine. I have 1 Issue and 2 questions: Issues: 1) I have 7 ESCs and successfully flashed 2 for 5 out of 7 I am getting a ‘d… Connection to target FAILED!’ message when I try to flash. In the trouble shooter it mentions bad electrical connections being 99.9% of the cases.. I have buzzed out the connection from the connection on the Arduino Uno to the leg on the SiLabs chip and there is continuity. Can you give me some more ideas on where to troubleshoot this? Questions: 1) The reason that I am flashing the ESCs is to make my hexacopter much more efficient to increase flight times and would like to understand how to achieve this using the BLHeli settings. Can you advise where to start and how to tune? Maybe you have a set of recommended parameters? 2) I would like to use the ESC for a different purpose ... I would like to use it to flash a high powered torch rather than drive a motor basic requriement would be a) On/Off b) Brightness c) Flash Frequency. Could you point me in the right direction in terms of where to modify the code? All help greatly appreciated. Of course I am happy to share results and findings! |

Com port problem?
First I would like to say hello to all I have just registered and this is my first post.
Second could I please say a big thank you to OLLiW for this super 'hack/diy' idea, I have managed to make the programmer using a USBASP and a PRO MINI. Took me half the morning with the pro mini because at first I tried to use an ARDUINO USB/FTDI to flash the pro mini but that would not connect, I kept getting a sync500 error and I could not find a solution so I switched my focus to my USBASP and I found this thread. Well what luck I find the very thing I am looking for, someone else has already done it the exact way I wish to. So I hook everything up and flash the pro mini without a hitch, great i thought now I can flash my esc's.........WRONG. I run up the blheli software and I hook everything up as per the instructions but I can not connect to the USBASP due to only having the option of COM1???? My USBASP is located on COM6 and for love nor money I can not find a way of changing the com port to COM6.....! I have uninstalled the USBASP drivers and re-installed them using different ones as well and that has done nothing at all, I have even tried using the most current ver of blheli but still the same problem I can not change the com port??? Anyone else come across this problem before? Many thanks and what a great help this thread and OLLiW have been for me so far. RCT |
