Hmmm, it seems a little odd that they designed a new frame with direct to swash servo mounts, and still used the old " 4-gear" drive system.
I would have thought that they would have used one similar to the X5. Of course, it is a good thing for us 'cheap guys', that were hoping that they will continue selling the 425 plastic framed kits for a while longer. At least most of the parts are probably the same on that X4 so parts should be available for a while.

I have one on the way, so that is good to hear. Anything special to do to fit it to the 425? Use the grip to swash links that came with the 425 basic kit?

Nope, the x4 has grip arm extensions, they stick out quite a bit, then go to the swash

Its a pretty much bolt on install, using the 425 swash

I got the complete head, it has a main shaft, yoke, grips, grip arms, swash lock arms, assembled
it is alot shorter

from the picture, it's very likely X4 is using mini size servos, like t-rex500, not standard size servos like 425?

sorry if I'm wrong, and sorry if this has been covered before

well, not an assumption anymore, I found out that you could read the servo model number if you stare at it long enough... that's a SAVOX SH-1250MG, that is indeed a mini size servo.
