Well, that's your call, either way you'd be having a great Heli. . The direct drive eliminates a lot of moving parts and setup is a lot simpler, plus you get the full power of what the servo has to offer.

Any news of what headspeed this is designed for?
IE if we want to run a governor mode are we going to need to look at fitting larger tail blades, like on the 600efl pro?

Bigger tail blades are not needed anymore, tail gear ratio has changed for the 700

I am wondering how much it will take to convert the f3c to direct link from servo to swash as well?

You need a FBL head and controller, as well as whatever upgrade parts are required for the DS conversion. Pretty wide spread of possibilities. You might look at the CHP DL setup which works with the 700 v1 or v2 and includes everything that you need aside from FBL head and electronics.

True, but you also lose a lot of strength. In particular, the ability to use push-pull - with direct-to-swash, all the side loads now have to be carried by the servo output shaft and its associated bearings, rather than a separate bellcrank.
The bellcranks are cheap and easy to make as strong as a Mack truck, to do that on a servo, OTOH, is $$$....

But the setup will be so much easier I don't think most folks will care lol... I'm intrigued by it myself. And I'll just keep using cheap DS610's and let em strip in a crash

For me the "feeling" of the direct link setup is profoundly different. The only way I can describe it is that it just seems much more "connected." No slop at all...

So...what's the new ratio? 4.54:1 same as using the 700N auto/umbrella gear? (nice mod BTW bro!)

That's the biggest benefit of DFC, the more moving parts you have, the bigger the possibility for slop development

Nice. Can I swap the V3 auto gear into a V2?
