Default Mini Protos

Have you guys heard any updates on a release date for this 450 size heli. Last release date I saw was June 10 and nothing after that. Looks pretty cool from the couple of YouTube videos I've seen.

I wanna see a BIGGER protos, with a TT driven tail. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Maybe they will be like Apple. Make a normal size Ipod Touch, a big Ipod Touch, and a small Ipod Touch.

It'll be here when it gets here but man the wait is hard! I am itching to see the mini-protos.

I would also love to see a bigger [but still 6s] maxi-protos. However, I for one hope they stick to the belt driven design. Gear whine would take something away from what makes the Protos so cool.

Originally the date was June, but it's slipped 4 months since then. At IRCHA there were a couple production quality specimens. So I think we'll have a miniProToast before Halloween.

Yes I saw those myself. I think it is coming for sure, they looked pretty cool actually. Gotta love the IRCHA Event.

Were they models you could touch? What did the fit and finish look like?

(Thanks for the site Will).

Is MSH going to put out a plastic frame version of the Mini Protos?

Nope. CF only. What you see is what you get.

That's a shame. That tells me any new products will be CF only. I was hoping to see a plastic composite frame version since the plastic frame is a lot cheaper than 2 CF plates from the consumer point of view. And now the only allure of the Protos line will be the single belt drive train and canopy.

I don't agree on the 450 plastic frame.
In a 450 heli, there isn't much room for plastic reinforcement and electronics at the same time with a small frame.
The most common thing is to see bolts threading on plastic frames, which strips them easily.
Hopefully, the frames will be cheaper than the ones in the 500.

I've been wondering why they don't do the plastic frame in polycarbonate?

Default Looking GOOD!

Is anyone else seeing a tail boom to tail case bolt static mod, or is it reflections? Is that two helis? One has gyro on top of boom case and the other on the bottom. The static mod (if it is such a thing) seems to appear on both.

The ESC looks pretty crammed in there (it's the 60amp YGE right?) and the capcitors hang out the front like on my current Protos with a Jeti 80amp ESC. All looks really neat on the wiring front though.

I wonder if the frame plastic at the bottom will flat for the FBL guys and whether we'll see a FBL head at launch?

Are there any rumours on price or kit options?

The body of the heli must be really small, as the YGE 60A is tiny...
