Default Soko Heli Tool Thread

In your experience is this tool worth the money? To me it seems so, but I am not that exact with my setups. I use the eyeballin' it method. I would like to hear some opinions on this tool and if it would be worth it for a relatively new flier.

Also any videos on what the phone app does?

If you use the iPhone app, it's really easy to use on anything 450 and up in size. I found it a bit heavy for some of the smaller models. Although, I did have success with my Oxy 3. It seems that if there's too much flex in the landing gear, it will not be easy to use at all.

Just follow all the steps on the app and read everything carefully and it's straightforward.

I think so. Used to do it using zip-tie and a pitch gauge.
Did my first setup with the sooko tool yesterday and it was so easy, much simpler and faster than how i used to do it.
You just have to follow the instructions and supply values to the app and it calculates everything for you.

Should mention that i have bought virtual main shaft in the app.

Think it would work on a Blade 360? Or is that too small of a heli?

When inputting the values into the virtual mainshaft part of the app, do you use the values on the top line or the bottom, larger value?

It should work great with that size heli.

I use it and their "virtual main shaft" iPhone/iPad app on my slightly smaller 450X and it's excellent... perfectly tracked blades and accurate pitch every time.

The top line.

It might be really helpful to go back through Soko's tutorial because this and a lot more very important info is covered there.

You really should read the tutorial again.

Make sure that you know the difference between the blue ball and the black ball, otherwise none of the number will be valid.

I think its well worth the money. I dont use the app. I use a leveling table that I built that accomdates my 450L & HD Cell 500. The main reason that I use a table is to correctly setup the self level on the Ikon & it locks my heli down when I am making all the mechanical adjustments for the swash & other tasks. Is is absolutly necessary? No. Worth the money? Yes.

I still use my digital pitch gauge at the field to adjust the pitch curves as needed.

It's way worth the money. Especially with the smart Phone app. With the smart phone app, it eliminates the need for a level table.

Worth every dollar! After you use it a few times, it just becomes second nature when doing your set up.
