Unknown Problem...
Well, I just recently received my first FBL Trex 500...it has a 3g on it...went through the setup and everything went well...I have flown it several times since the setup and it flies very nice!
UNTIL TODAY... Fully charged the 6s lipo and let it initialize...flew some slow circuits with it and it was great...I noted a little twitch in the tail at times but nothing major...then I was just hovering her and all of a sudden she went full negative and stopped...I was able to gain control again and then she immediately went full negative again and slammed skids first into the pavement...I don't know if this is a LIPO problem, a 3G problem or spektrum problem....the lipo was slightly puffed after the crash...not a great day, but at least it was nothing I did while flying...I plugged it back in after disconnecting two of the esc leads so the motor did not fire up and noted that I had a flashing light on the spektrum rx and no light on the satellite.... Thoughts? Starting my shopping list now to replace all servos, the boom, the spindle, the main shaft, the main blades, etc etc etc |

03,
Some more info on setup would help, but it's not a Lipo imo. I can't say for sure but it sounds as though it may have had a signal issue and gone into failsafe and depending on how you had it setup when first bound eg. low Thr in idlup is full neg pitch????. Anyway, as I said, some more info would be needed for folk to give a more informed answer to your question |

Ok,
You still don't say what Rx you have but whatever the stick positions were in when you first bound is normally the default failsafe settings which would still give you neg pitch in Norm even though it cut thr. Did you do a rebind setting failsafes after changing your pitch curves etc and spool up without blades and test by turning your tx off? However, on thinking about it whilst typing, I'm not convinced this maybe 'whole story' now as you say you regained control quickly, although briefly, before it happened again. I'm not sure the system could return to 'Normal' from failsafe as quick as you are describing, if it regained signal, so perhaps wire connections from the 3g to the Rx etc could be a point of interest? There's a connectivity/signal issue somewhere though, as indicated by the rx and sat lights, imho. |
