12Z - XTR - model swapping
Dear Helifreaks,
Sthg very weird happened on my 12Z and seems to be the cause of two crashes with my T600CF. Twice within the last 15 flights, I completely lost contact with the heli, which ended up in really bad crashes, the heli was at both times flying pretty high ... very pricey crashes. Now here is the weird thing: after the first crash, I turned my radio on at home for the first time, and the model selected on the screen was not my "T600CF" model in memory, but "PlaneXTR", which is the model I use on my sim! Ok, I thought I was so distracted by the crash that I changed my model. Never nice to crash your heli right? But once I got to rebuilt the heli, I noticed sthg weird in the "T600CF" model. I could not anymore select the throttle curve menu (I was re-doing the whole CC85HV setup). I could only go to throttle curves through the AFR menu. So I opened another model from scratch on the 12Z, did all my setup again, and went flighing... well that was stupid. After 15 flights, same scenario. Finishing a stall tun, the heli said bye bye... and went on his own. Impact point and heli were 20 feet away from each other...It was last sunday. I thought it was the receiver, a 138DP. After the first crash, I did various stress tests on it, and checked it with my Bantam helimaster to see each channel resolution. Evthg okay. But you never know... So after that second crash, I came home, dropped my radio and the wreck on my working bench, and went playing golf, thinking: okay, it was the receiver, you dumb.. French! And I decided that I would send the motor (NEU1515), receiver and ESC (85HV) to maintenance, and trash the receiver battery (TP 2s 3400mah), and the Align 6A BEC. Imagine the mess it is to safely ship these items to the US from Bolivia..... I was traveling this week, and only this morning before going to the office, I decided to quickly test the receiver before packing it. So I turned my 12Z on.... and guess what? The model on the radio was "PlaneXTR" ! You should have seen my face. Obviously this model is not intended to transmit, so the frequency selected does not correspond to the frequency I use (72.089mHz). So long story short, I need your input on that weird situation. 1. Did you ever heard/read about sthg similar? 2. My idea is that XTR has somehow corrupted the 12Z software, but that's my 2 cents. 3. Any test, I could do? Thanks for your help.
