1st cp, need help with pich curve ect.
Got a used nano cpx today. Very touchy! It is my 1st cp so i need lots of advise.
1. As it gets near lift off it tends to tip. If i adjust trim it goes sideways after lift off or tips the other way. It seems like 1 trim step is to much. Should i use sub trim? Radio is DX6I. I have the programing from there manual. 2. If I give it enough throttle to lift off It goes up rapidly. Any way to tame this? Is gradual lift off possible with the nano cpx? Thanks; Don |

Trim is a bad thing to use on a nano. It also doesn't like to sit on the ground. There are a couple of threads floating with tamer settings for new flyers.

It's important that you center transmitter Aileron and elevator trims for Nano.
You should find this link helpful NANO CPX SERVICE AND FLYING LINKS FOR NEWBIES https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=596574

Thanks for all the links. I have read several and I realize it will take some practice.
I also have a msr and probably need more practice on it also. I can keep it in the air with some simple movements. Don |

As others have said, don't use any trim from the slider switches next to the input sticks. If anything use some subtrim, especially until you get more accustomed to the nano you have. After a while you'll find you don't need as much or any at all , to control the heli. It just takes Practice. If I can do it, anyone can.

After much reading and watching videos I realize that a CP is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from any of my other helis! (coaxials, MSR, Nano qx, B400 waiting for spring)
I held it in my hand last night and worked the sticks. Watching the swash was a revelation! When you tell it to go left it keeps going left until you tell it to go right or hits something. I think the flybar on my other helis was saving me more that I thought. Many of the threads and videos emphasized that there is no such thing as a steady hover without stick input. i can take my hands off the controls on most of my other helis, Not so with my MSR and apparently not so with the nano cpx. I am thankfull for all the good advise and links. They will help immensely in my quest to fly this think. Don |

Good luck
Something that may be of use is learning to use the Soft-start feature. With throttle hold engaged, return the collective stick to center, switch into Idle-up mode, turn off Throttle hold and the heli will spool up nice and slowly. Mine tends to drift MUCH less using the soft start. You can make the "lift off" a little smoother by having an "S" shaped pitch curve. Something like 0-30-50-70-100
