Default Soldered in HHBL plus 3-1 question.

So the motor kept unplugging from the ESC all the time and I just found my soldering stuff this week so I hard wired the motor right to the board

While doing so I took a good look at the 3-1 and noticed a little doohickey that seems to be disconnected. All my other Nanos have this part properly in place, but even with it seemingly broken I don't notice any I'll effects. Anybody know what this gizmo does?

I guess that first shot doesn't show much.
I just took the 3 pin male connector from the motor and squeezed the pins a little closer together to make it fit right into the board.

Do you notice anything different then when you did not have it hard wired?

That is a 22 uF capacitor across the + and - battery circuit. It may be there to smooth out dips in the voltage, or noise spikes. You probably could do without it. You could get a replacement if you want to try soldering one:

The only real difference I've noticed is that it simply doesn't come unplugged on me. Lol
Not sure if I'm experienced enough to notice any consistency improvements.

Cool, I might try that. I did get a replacement board from HH, so I might give it a whirl

Nice fix! The plug becoming disconnected gets annoying quick.

I am in the process of soldering my setup as well, but I let it sit a week and am not sure which wire goes where on the ESC. From your pics it looks like the black is the outermost hole and the white the innermost. Is this correct?

Sorry for the late reply, if you mean the power wires, the white one is on the outside. As far as the three prong connector I'm not sure what to tell ya :/
