Thumbs up Align 700E - Hot off the press...

All,

Here it is. Just started building the 700E Combo.

It's a very easy build, and it goes together without problems. Compared to the 700N this heli can almost be built with one hand tied on the back.

Below are photos of the current status, about 1 hour into the build. I will update more as the build progresses.

Canopy

Motor changed to 510KV

ESC Mount

The bellcranks have 4 holes instead of 3 it looks like, but can you also tell HOW LONG AND WIDE the battery tray is please thanks, and is it the same shape canopy and the 700N or different.

Canopy is very different from the N-version. Much slimmer and a bit longer.

The frames are 60 mm apart. Tray is around 74 mm high.

The inner hole is for FBL and the outer is for FB.

Edvard, on the previous pictures I notice a screw going into the tail boom block. Did you mod that to secure the boom or is that from the factory. I know that you can mod the booms to "capture" the tail boom so it cant get slung out. I just didn't know if Align is now building the tail boom with a built in option so you don't have to do the mod. Thanks.

Hmmm. I wonder what KDE will come up with?

Battery tray?
Esc Tray?
Bottom plate?

Duke - you are spot on! I am already eager to start the development process, so the manual is a huge help to get started!

The good news is, most of the KDE Direct upgrades from the T700N line fit the new helicopter:

Main Drive Gear, 115T, M1.0: http://www.kdedirect.com/TREX700NMDGM1.html
Performance Tail Upgrade V2: http://www.kdedirect.com/TREX600600N700NPTUV2.html
Vertical Stabilizer Mount: http://www.kdedirect.com/TREX700NVSM.html
KDE Direct 1917H/1Y-N42 S2 Brushless Motor: http://www.kdedirect.com/KDE1917H-N42.html
- as luck would have it, the latest production run of motors utilizes M4 x 30mm spacing, which is perfect for the TREX 700E and the kV is almost identical (520kV versus 510kV for the ALIGN 700M).
RevCo MOD1.0, 6mm Bore Pinion Gear: http://www.kdedirect.com/PartsandAccessories.html

I'm not sure about a Bottom Plate, as the concept ALIGN uses looks in the images to be solid (carbon tray with Aluminum crossbars similar to the ALIGN 450PRO), but there may be an opportunity for something exciting to produce.
