Default Wound Tail motor!

I rewound my first motor last night. I pulled some wire from an old transformer and followed the directions. I only got 7 wraps, but it works. I have a new motor on the way, I did not think I could rewind a motor, so I suppose I now have a spare. Since this wire is larger in diameter, I imagine it will now draw more power, but the act of rewinding these motors is a lot easier than I thought it would be.

PS, I found a motor mount in an odd place, in a Lego Set. They are a tough plastic and an angle connector from the Technic set is just about the right size. I just had to drill out the roll a bit and fill the end so it would connect on to the tail shaft. (lego element 4107085) I would not run out and buy one to mount your motor, just saying you can find a moter mount in odd places.

Great feeling when you try something you've never done and never expected to do. I just rewound my first motor, the 2.9g tail also about a month or so ago. And like you I ordered another just in case. But the rewound works just great. I used same size wire from an old transformer and got all wraps in so performance is same as stock. Great job!
