Mechanical gain issues - tail
I am running an Atom 500, Spirit FBL, KBDD dampers/EE tail blades Koby 70/Compass motor TGY-616MG cyclic and ProModeler S74120BLHV on the tail all running at 8.4V.
Taranis/D4R in SBus mode. The problem I am having is I seem to be running big tail gains and big piro optimisation numbers for a tail that isn't as crisp as I'd like. I can't get it to wag. The ball is as far out as it'll go on the tail servo horn and the ball on the tail is on the one furthest from the boom. The tail blades are leading edge control. Any suggestions?

What is the distance out on the servo horn in mm?
Could be that the horn itself is not long enough to give you the proper mechanical gain. Not really going to find many guys here with experience on the Spirit FBL, you might be better off posting in the Spirit FBL forum to see if it means anything.

Cheers mate, I've posted over there but I am almost positive that this is mechanical.

I assume that you've moved the tail linkages with the push rod detached from the servo to make sure that everything is smooth as silk? I had to sand the plastic linkages to get it smooth.

Mine is at 13.5mm
It's the same tail linkage as his 3d+, so I'm hoping he would know how to get it smooth by now.
