Canopies Compatible with T-rex 600E...
It's becoming more difficult every day to find canopies for my FrankenRex-600. While heavily modified and customized, the basic frame is from the 600E/CF days. Do you know what modern-day canopies are compatible with this frame? I don't mind a little trimming or shaping.
Thanks for your input!

So let me get this straight - dont buy the ones that are plentiful and cheap - trex 600e canos everywhere...
You would rather have some obscure brand's canopy that cost 3 times as much and still has to be modified to fit on it - and then hope and pray it doesnt bust loose and fly up into the blades....

They're not plentiful and cheap or I wouldn't have made the post. You linked to a nitro canopy which won't even work. It was also out of curiosity that I asked if anyone knew of compatible canopies.
Please don't bother next time...it's not helpful when you answer a question that wasn't asked with incorrect information.

Non sense - here's another -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALIGN-T-REX-...wAAOSwmrlUujuK Bunch of 600's - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...SortOrder=desc - With a little work I can get a 6HV Ultimate cano to fit - but how people have a $80 compass canopy sitting around..... And I promise you if you placed a 'wanted to buy 600e cano' thread - you would get a number of responses - heli bros would come thru.... Couple weeks ago on RunRyder there was a 4 pack of em go for $60.... http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t806226p1/ 600 size stuff and especially the the 600 blades are plentiful in resale forums.... - And of course HK's and Chaos are direct knockoffs... -

I picked up a couple of canopies from helidirect.com for my 12s 600ESP a few weeks ago, for about $15 each. They fit perfectly without any mods.

Darn it, that was the first place I wen't...beat me to it I guess. I ended-up finding some canopies at aligntrexstore.com for $10 and ordered three of them. The problem is they're ugly as sin and I was hoping to avoid painting...oh well, at least I can make them like I want them.
You and SomeOfParts are correct, if you look enough there are still deals to be found if you're timing is right.

I'm running the 600Pro canopy
and yes I did have to drill new holes in the lower front of the canopy... the stock canopy hole line right up with the motor hole cutout in the 600CF.. So I install the canopy post for the front on the front center hole of the angled front part of the frame...The rear canopy post is in the stock location Now I can run any 600pro canopy

I have about a dozen various 600 "other model" Trex canopies. All fit my 600 Esp with some work. Drill new holes, place new canopy studs in different locations on the heli. It is the reason I own it. Cheap parts and it is my training heli.
Best deal out there is HK regularly, but just scored another couple (even a few nitro versions) at HeliDirect for $10ea that were prev $60. Fusano's and I make them work. Shoot, I have even fitted Diabolo, Goblin, and a few other model canopies on my 600 over the years. They absolutely do not need to be model or even brand correct to make them fit.
