Default New Logo 700 SX

What ever happened to the new Logo 700, I haven't seen or heard anything since spring. Are they still working on it? Making any progress or changes? Are we looking at spring 2016 or later?
Waited forever for the Avant Mostro, it is great but no support. Do we try the Protos Max V2 and try to wear it out before the New 700 comes out?
Still hoping that they get it out sooner rather than later and that it flies like a big version of the 480 Xxtreme which is the best heli on the market in its class.

Last I heard, its due around January / February.

What I dont get is they pulled the sale of the 700 xxtreme kit out of the Mikado website awhile ago, but they dont have the new 700 replacement (and for all the pedantic puritans out there, yes I know, 690 sx).

I am guessing, we just have to wait a good several months at the very least.

Mikado has unique timing and schedule's inducing speculation for the masses and a fun cat and mouse game of when it will happen to the rest.

You'd think this approach would frustrate the customers and cause poor sales.

Mikado manages to get everything perfect (or really really close) right on release day.

All the rant and where is it threads change gears to raving and loving of the product.

Sit back and enjoy the threads , then when Mikado coughs up the product , buy and enjoy.

Martin

I have one of the discontinued 700's , heavier disk load , yes but I reach for it 1st every time out. If I had to gripe on the 700's , I prefer the 1st gen non stacked frames over the 2nd gen stacked ones.

I was out for a new Xxtreme kit for my birthday and unfortunately did not get one from my LHS. Turn to online retailers and all had not list the kit or combo for sale anymore. That was fustrating for me as Mikado left a gap between the outgoing and incoming model. Fortunately I manage to find an extremely good condition used kit coupled with the best if not one of the best electronics at a price that I would not have paid if new.

Congrats on the "new" heli Ah Liang! Great that it is in good condition. Unfortunately mine not so much. The first heli I've had to strip down and rebuild due to condition sold.

I was lucky to purchase one of the last 700xxtreme's a few months ago; unbeknownst to me that the new 700 was going to replace it. Have to say, I haven't been disappointment - even if the new 700 is lighter, for my flying style - I'm not disappointed I bought the xxtreme. It flys great and extremely robust.

I have the 700 and love it , upgraded to 14s and its a monster.

Im sure they can loose a few grams but is it really going to make a huge difference ?

Could be a going back to roots thing.

IMO an easier approach is to make a good set of 730s and pair with a 14s setup and be done with it.

But how many people will buy a set of 730mm blades, and what other helis could you fly them on other than a discontinued Logo 700XX? I doubt many companies would take a punt on it.

I'm flying my 700X on Rotortech 760's and I think it's the best heli I'v ever flown. But then again my flying style is technical and I'm not looking for the most aggressive collective/cyclic. Accuracy is #1 criteria for me.

It's too bad one can't take the design of a 713 and stretch it out to 730 or is it the cost of a mold? I'm definitely in for two sets to start with

I'm curious if the 700X can go to 760 mains or did you stretch yours?

There are a number of heli's that could go to 730's. It's a question of getting a decent blade out there at that length to see if the market adopts it.

Yes it's the molds that are expensive.

A stock 700xx can take 760mm blades without any risk of hitting the tail blades. 14s goes without saying

How do you like the 760's ? Have you tried the edge 753 by comparison ?

I've heard the edge 753 are a heavy blade with a slow cyclic.

The 760 could be a heavier blade also which would works well with a technical flight.

I made a logo 770 by taking a 800 boom/tt/etc and trimming off 50mm. I have sab blackline 770 blades on there now. It's flies precise but I find I need to poke a bit on the inputs to make it fast.

I like the 760's a lot. From what I remember all of the Edge classic blades were slow but the SE's were a lot quicker. Unfortunately the SE's were only made in a few sizes and not 753. The Rotortech 760's are probably midway between the Edge classic and SE's in terms of agility. They make less bark but the stops are more crisp. A lot less bounce on elevator stops. I haven't tried SAB blades for a while but I did try some 630's on my Logo 600. They were a lot quicker than the 640's I have now but I found the SABs loose in the middle. It was harder for me to practice things like 12 point tic tocs.

here you can see many photos of the new 700. http://www.heligods.com/threads/new-...logo-700.2547/
what a work of art. the frame now has two sections (not only halves) that makes the pilot's life way easier in case of crash. the higher section contains the servos and gears and the lower section is for batteries and skids. most crashes will damage the lower part, i think, and you won't have to go through the laborious work of replacing servos anymore. it also seems more compact than the current one, that looks very cumbersome to my taste (despite never having flown one). i hope they do the same to the logo 600 frame.

Are you sure that's not an old prototype? Looks like saddle packs. I thought they were changing the design to stick packs

It's VERY quiet from the Mikado front, ... also on the VBAR forum and the german forums...I hope a new XXTREME storm will follow soon...

^ Sounds like standard Mikado protocol.

We may or may not see a prototype at Orlando Heli Blowout. Hopefully it's something good.

I don't mind waiting, they can take as long as they need to get it right, but I wish some basic info was available, such as:

1. Gear ratios
2. Motor shaft 8mm or 6mm?
3. Can we use 690mm mains or will it still require >710mm?

I have a spare Pyro 800-48L with 8mm shaft. I'm keeping it until I know if it will be usable.

I'm wondering if all of my electronics from my 700XX will drop in. Thinking I could save the drivetrain parts for my 800.
