The noise of the crown and pinion gear reduces after a dozen or so flights as the crown gear profiles. The new metal spiral gears are much quieter.

Thanks guys. I watched your video and used your system to set up during the build John. Had a problem the other day which was new to me. The problem was not new but the effect was though. When I plugged the batteries in the heli would start to spool up even though I was on throttle hold and a low throttle. To cut a long story short it was a faulty satellite cable. I have had faulty satellite cables before but never has the heli spooled up without input. It could have been a nasty ouch but I was quick enough to unplug before it got to far.

Yeah that is an odd result from a sat cable. I'd just say, be sure your failsafe is set correctly.

Yes, it was weird. Thanks, after a new cable was fitted I did a rebind and this would ensure the failsafes were set correctly.
