Default Upgrading 450 Trex Plus Problems.

At the beginning of the year I got a 450 Trex PLUS DFC RTF combo. It was great to fly until I started upgrading some parts. I've put on a upgrade Metal DFC Man rotor, swashplate and metal tail rotor box with metal hub and grips. Since the upgrades the tiny wag in the tail, I've brought down the gyro gain to 38% from 45% and it does fix it. Also, I mid flight the power cuts out and I plummet to the ground. I think its the thermal cutoff feature on the ESC. Could the heavier Upraded parts be putting stress on the Motor/ESC causing them to over heat? Should I upgrade my pinion from a 11T to a 12T or 13T to increase the head speed?

I quiet new to this hobbie and I have no Idea how to alleviate these problems. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

For the brown outs, you might consider adding a CC10 BEC. The stock one can barely do the job and when stressed the 3gx resets from a low voltage situation, the CC10 is better able to supply ample power.

I have to start off and say that I love Align.. I do... But the 3GXmr needs some work still. I had the same problem with the throttle cutting out. Somehow I always recovered and caught it.. sometimes auto landing it... I have heard this complaint before and IMO, its the 3GXmr.

I would first try this to remedy the problem- Use the manual to program the ESC and set the BEC output voltage to 6.0 volts. The default is lower than that.

The servos are designed for 6.0 volts and the 3GXmr will be much happier.

As far as the CNC parts affecting the flight.... there is no way. The motor and ESC on the Plus are identical to the Pro model- which has even more weight and metal parts.

While an external BEC would be ideal- there is no battery port on the 3GXmr... so unless you spliced in the power lead through the throttle channel-- you would have no where to plug it in.
