here is a video of the 2520 motor in action

No matter how hard I try the headspeed does not drop off with this motor. The stock 6s motor would bog and you can hear headspeed dropping off in hard moves but it picks back up very fast

I just installed my 2520 last weekend and have had the chance to fly it a few times and I'm liking it so far. I definitely think I'll have to get better batteries though. I am using nanotech 6s 1300's. At 78%tc governed (approximately 3000rpm) it was doing good but today's last flight ended with actually bogging it fairly badly which I haven't been able to do yet and as the motor picked back up, the tail had a bad wag to it. I'm not really sure if I bogged it or if it went into lvc mode for a few seconds. I've been getting the 2 beep low voltage warning on my esc for most flights with this combo and I think I'm quickly killing my batteries. I don't think my batteries can feed the motor the juice and I'm having some significant voltage sag.

On the first flight, I tried a governed 90% headspeed for a calculated 3200rpm. It was more power than I need but awesome!

What pinion, esc, governor, batteries, and throttle curve are you using? I've got the15t, yge60a, robird governor, nanotech 1300's, and 78% tc right now and have the timer set to 3:30. I was flying 4:30 with the old motor and on laid back flights could easily go to 5 minutes. Now at 3:30 on 78% the batteries come down at 3.76 to 3.79v.

I'm looking at trying a castle phoenix 40hv opto esc w/ WR bec that I have in the parts bin and those giant power dinogy 1500mah batteries. The dinogy's are big and heavy though. Would a pulse 1350 be good?

In that video I am using

pulse ultra 1350mah 35c Lipos ( great lipos)

headspeed 3300.

16 tooth pinion 73% throttle curve governed. YGE 60 amp esc. Not using a separate bec.

I have got MKS 95 servos and mks 95i on tail.

I also have some turnigy Lipos 6s 1300mah 30c Lipos but not as good and constantly hit LVC so cant fly hard with them. I fly at 3100 on these Lipos still hit LVC.

This motor definitely needs decent Lipos.

Timer set at 3.20mins

Is your mini stretched?

no its stock 325mm blades

I had a stretched miniP with same motor two months ago an it was same result. The headspeed did not drop compared to stock 6s motor and could not bog it at all. My headspeed was 3100 and was getting same flight times. The strected mini felt more powerful and gave better blade farts than my current set up.
