Default hurry up x4!!!

i have been looking at getting another heli for a little while now after i sold my trex 550. i liked it but didnt want that big a heli. so now im looking for a 500 size and this x4 looks like the one to get. want to try something besides align. one question about the 4 gear drive system, is this a pain to deal with like meshing or anything like that?

Getting the gear mesh right between the motor pinion and the primary gear can be a little frustrating because you have to remove the motor mount, slide the motor a little, then re-install the mount again and check gear mesh. You may have to do this several times before you get it where you want it.

There is no adjustment on any of the other gears, so no fiddling with them is needed.

I was all hyped up when I saw the X4 pics. But after a bit of waiting and looking at the design, I feel like its not worth the cost for people who already have the CF frame version.

One of the main benifits of Guai 425 series is the cheapness of the basic kits and that you can strip a complete set for parts (for me this works anyways). with the direct drive system of the X4, I'd think people gonna be stripping servo gears a lot. and the X4 only use mini servos, the good minis aren't cheap to replace gears.

I like the look of all metal head and tail, but they tend to damage other parts more than the plastic.(I have Align 450Pro and 700N for comparison and judging from the manufacturing and finishing of my CF 425 kit, the align kits has better precision. ) For a beater heli I'd much prefer the old CF version of the 425 than the X4.

Guys, please give your opinion about the X4 too.

:thumbdown

2 stage gear train, same exact bearings and one way as the 425
no way im getting that

I already experienced the nightmare that it can turn into
Not to say its worthless, because it did fly for 150+ flights

I replaced everysingle bearing, and it still failed

There is a reason why the x5 has a huge oneway
it is needed

I put a spice of paper between the motor gear and the main gear and press them together then i use a plier with narrow tip to tighten the motor screws a bit. Then all you have to do is remove the motor plate and tighten the motor screws properly with a screwdriver.

I just sold my X5 for waiting X4 Combo.

There are miniVbar & 4 savox mini servos & HK3026 1400KV motor & 66A ESC included.

If you ask me it's worth to sell X5 for swapping X4 .
Yes! Because I already have Logo600 & Align450 pro (Vbar).
I need mid size heli between logo & 450pro.
So X4 it's what I want .
Because I am a Taiwaness , In LHS gaui's price is a bit cheap than align.
Not only price but the quality also pertty good.

Im not buying a x4, the 2 stage drive train is "problematic"

The bearings supporting the one way bearing shaft
are tiny, and it spins at around 8k rpm.

It has the same design as the 425.
And yes I know alot of people have no issues with the 425 owb

If only gaui just used the x5 frame and drive train
It would of been perfect.

Sucks, I really like the 400 size
