Default Copter X 500 ESC issues

I have just tried to set up this esc and found a set of instructions for the 70a unit that seems to work however it does several things I dont like, 1 cant see to get it to start on soft start, with slowly advancing the throttle on a linear curve it has almost like an instant on but at lower rpm, also at 100% it pulsates graunches and does not sound like it enjoys it.... can you set the 0% and 100% settings for the throttle with the esc?

The K-Force 70A is not good for a 500 size helis as it have no built in BEC.
The K-Force 100A is very good. I have used it for over a year now wit no problems.
