shorten the links more, they cam wind in further than you think

Also do you have the balls and link rods on the grips as short as they can go?

I didn't measure it, but it must be

The shaft is shorter, there is no swash lock.

The grips and arms would probably be about the same weight

the block looks shorter so probably lighter too

Only thing that might add weight would be the links

My current RTF weigh is 1.9 kgs exactly, I did post a RTF weight recently on another thread, that may give you an idea

Just installed the new thrust bearings...still not smooth???? I guess the next step is checking the bearings in the grips. They were new grips, bearings should be good? This is turning into a project!

your doing something wrong

I've lost count of the number of Align heads I've built and never had any notchyness

Other brands of head yes...

I have fixed notchy heads, usually its the order the bits were fitted, or loctite getting into bearings

Again Deet, you were right on the money. I thought they were all the way in, but alas I was wrong.

Thanks again!

Let me get this straight also. If you already have a head from an esp, all you need are the DFC kit, jesus bolt for the head and the main shaft spacer??

So I did some measuring. The jesus bolt for the main shaft is a Socket screw M2.5X19mm. I put that throught the dfc head and it looks like a M2.5X14m would get the job done. Can anyone measure their screw to confirm this? If this is correct, A Main Hobbies has it, but I'm sure you could get it anywhere. Here is a link.

the jesus bolt comes with the kit

yes you need the spacers

you will also need the Pro grips if you have the ESP head

all you use from the ESP head is the feathering shaft, brass spacers, and thrust bearings

are you saying that the ball links are coming loose from the link rod? or is that because of a crash or another problem?

I found a bad outter bearing on one of the blade holders. I contacted the shop I bought them from and they are sending me a new set. The inner race of the bearing was dented/dimpled.

So I'm taking a counter IED course this week and today during our practical application they asked us what a DFC was, I had to hold my breath ( by the way, DFC stands for directional fragmentation charge )

That doesn't sound so fun when using it as a helicopter related term
