Default 500 Pro TT tail case on "standard" 500 frame

I know there are lots of threads out there on this, but there are so many to sort through, that getting the results I'm looking for is difficult. And I just won an auction for a 500 Pro TT tail, so I'm in a bit of a hurry to figure this out. Doh!

Anyway, I have a few 500 frames, one of which still needs a full tail. So I found one on eBay, but it's a Pro model. I thought one of the frames I had was a Pro, but I was wrong. Anyway, what do I need to make this usable on a regular frame? I need the tail case, as the regular frame is wider, and I guess I need a few different gears to make the tail usable on a standard frame due to gear ratios, correct? Do I need just the front gear (the 31T version) and that's it, or do I need to change the tail gear as well? Am I missing anything else?

Thanks for the help. All the different 500 models makes for a LOT of stuff to sort through to get the differences in parts sorted. I'm asking primarily because, if the guy I won the auction from would let me back out (I only won by $0.99) because it would be more hassle than it's worth, then I'll go that route. Otherwise, I'm a man of my word, and would take it and either sell it or make it work out. Thanks again!

The only thing you need to replace would be the front TT gear, like you already mentioned, the boom block, and the tail control rod. I'd go ahead with your purchase.

Ah, right. I forgot about the frame mounted servo on the Pro. I figured that was all I needed, but wanted to make sure. Thank you!

I personally think that it would be more trouble than its worth unless you really want the reduced tail ratio.

You are correct, you do not need that. I bought something similar for my blade 400 years ago and hated it. I didn't like it because it only clamps the boom on two points unlike the plastic boom holder.

No offense Sol, but that i2 boom block is far better then a stock version. Many stock plastic versions dont clamp well, and many times need to be "pegged" to stop the tail from spinning in some cases. The i2 boom block locks it solid. But it is expensive.
I fly them on all my Trex 500's and my Trex 700. Plus when you want to change out the drive shaft bearings, you dont have to split the case to do it. The one shown is a "PRO" model, he also makes them for the ESP frame.
That aside....

I have a few plastic tail blocks ( ESP version ) I can send you one if you want...I dont use the plastic ones..I always saved them in case I needed a spare, but theres no way I can break the i2 version..believe me, I tried....

I haven't had an issue with the plastic holder. If it works for you then great. Like I said, the last one I had I hated it and don't plan on repeating that process.

I don't remember, it was at least 3 years ago.
