Check out the RCGroups forums for Micro or Mini Electric Helis. A lot of people are doing flybarless BladeCP and HoneybeeCP helis.

From what I have read, you build the normal head without bars or paddles (but you still need a cage and, therefore, a very short flybar). Then, you attach rate gyros to the aileron and elevator servos.

The gyros react faster than you can to keep the heli stable.

There is a guy on rcgroups who did a lot of flybarless 450s. Even DIY 3 blade and 4 blade 450's. Should be easy to find his post. But his birds also used 2 additional gyros for the aileron and elevator. He eliminated the flybar cage, seesaw and modded the washout arms. Looks very clean.
