Default Can't set total gain to 100

Ok so I have an eclipse 7 tx and I set my gyro setting in the tx to 100 but it does not set the total gain on the gt 5 too 100. It only gets up to 93. I dont think i can adjust endpoints on the gain setting. I went into ch 5 to increase endpoints thinking that was my gain channel. It it was already maxxed out. Am I missing something? Also I have messing with taming this tail down a bit so it's Not so sensitive. I adjusted ep in my tx. Iv been trying to max out my gain on the tail to the point where it is fast wagging or max gainso i can the drop/pull it back but I'm on 125 and it doesn't seem to ever fast wag. Is that because my total gain is still not 100? I don't want the gain to be low and try and do a flip and have a blow out

I found i have no way to change to total gain to a desired number, just go through the set up and whatever turns out. Its confusing, 'total gain ' is the number second up from the bottom of the display [see manual] and is made up of many factors. I wouldn't worry about it.

Im assuming your referring to the 100/60 gain switch?

Just to clarify that figure is the % of the gain i.e. 100% or 60%.. Its not the actual gain figure/number...

The intention is that you have it tied to a switch so that when you tweaking/configuring the GT5 is the gain is too high and causes oscillation..etc you can switch to 60% which therefore reduces all gains to 60% cyclic and tail. Adjust the tail gains and cyclic gains in the GT5 and leave the total gain at 100%. Once you have settled on a stable setup for your GT5/heli you just leave the total gain % at 100%.

With the 8fg i was able to assign it to LD (left knob/dial) so i can turn the percentage up or down from 100% (+/-20%) and also assign it to a switch to switch to 60% gains.

So if your tail gain in the GT5 is 125 and the % total gain is 93% the actual tail gain in the GT5 is 116. GT5 gain = 125 and total gain 60% , actual gain = 75.....etc

Also, make sure the total gain number on the GT5 is displayed with black background and white numbers = head holding mode... White background with black numbers = rate mode..

360 is right , but with a dx6i iwas unable to setup the 100/60 switch , no matter though , just change the flight parameters as needed.

Yes, i see what you are saying, but i cant assign my knobs or another channel inside my tx to control the gain. The only channel i think i can plug my gryo gain plug into is ch 5. So my gain is really 116 right now on the tail. Is that normal for the 600 efl? I was expecting symptoms of high gain and then tweak it down from there. I cant set the total gain higher in the gt5 menu can I? other than a different radio or trying a reset and start from scratch again i dont know how to get total to 100.

Really don't worry about it , as long as its not neg. [black on white] at mid stick , no throttle hold. Just make changes needed for flight, my gain was 41 now its 71 after fiddling with things. i have no idea what change did what to the T.gain. Its all buried in an algorithim.

Its not a big deal if your total gain isnt 100% provided you are able to achieve high enough gains for the tail and cyclic there is no issue..

The total gain function is just a sort of "bail out" feature so if you have the gains too high you have a way of reducing the gains preventing you heli from vibrating and potentially crashing.

If you total gain % is set too low eg 75%, its possible you might not be able to achieve high enough gains..

I dont own a 600efl pro but if you tail is holding with your current gain then great. Leave it as is.. I have read that the 600efl pro tail was designed to run at high headspeeds ie. >2200hs and tail authority can be an issue if the headspeed is lower that 2200.. The solution is to run longer tail blades to overcome the decrease in tail authority..

You might want to check the ALign 600efl forum as Align may have a new gear setup for those running slower headspeeds.
