Default radio vs control line

in light of all the which radio is better threads I just thought I'd this discussion. While I like my Futaba I just really feel "more connected" to the heli with control line!

If they still sold the Vertibird, I would buy one.

Control line is still a great deal of fun:

I suspect one might have a bit of difficulty with cutting the lines on a 3D helicopter, though.

Control line was my first flying experience when I was a young teen.. a small plane with a little Cox engine. I remember filling it with a syringe and it has a spring to wind against to start. Good memories.

When I was a kid back in the early 80's they sold RTF Cox brand control line nitro planes at K-Mart. In addition to that they sold scale model kits and supplies (glues, paints etc.) model trains and all kinds of stuff in the toy department that kids just don't give a fig about anymore.

Now this is cool, and they'll be in my area in a couple of weeks. I might have to check this out. Never knew something like this existed.

I had a P-40 line control that I got for my birthday in the early 80s also....cranked it one time and of course never flew it. After that it was just a cool "pretend fly" piece !! There would be model car shows and stuff at the local TG&Y too!!

The Cox, Testors, Wen Mac airplanes were, and still continue to be, a great deal of fun.

I have not flown U-Control in a few months now, and miss it.

I have a quite a few old plastic airplanes ready to fly right now, but no time.
