Something is surely not right for a quick uk link to pop off.

Perhaps your geometry at the cyclic and pitch limits are putting strain on the links.

Or you had a faulty uk link, they will SNAP on hard and are almost impossible to remove with just your fingers.

The geometry is such that at the end of the travel it is induced to pop off.

I am going to put a safety on it that will at least keep it connected to the arm if it pops off.

you need this part (R50N958-SS) so that won't happen.

Sure can. I converted my O550 elevators to this part. It is from the V1 Velocity 50.

I used a 450 swashplate ball- the one with the rod on it, cut it in half, and put a washer at the end so if the link did pop off it would be captured.

I wish i has seen that part earlier, the pop off cost me a new set of KBDD blades, a main gear, and a a servo. I considered making a part like that.

Thanks,

You must have bought them out. they are out of stock everywhere.

My fix is safe, but it is not optimal.

Outrage parts are getting scarce. I still never understood their business plan.

1. Don't improve then Discontinue the most innovative 450 (G5).
2. Don't improve then Discontinue the most innovative 550 .
3. Spend a lot of money at IRCHA 2012 promoting the brand
3. Fire one of the finest designers in the business.
4. Rely on a 550 kit to make the Fusion into a heavy 550.
5. Sit on your hands and allow the brand to wither on the vine.
6. Stick your customers with nice helicopters with scarce parts.

I think the CEO of that company should run for president of the United States. The one we have is going to term limit out.and they have a similar management technique.

Where's my "like" button?

How much is a perfect Outrage 550 airframe worth these days, including a lot of spare parts? Matt

Maybe $150.00 if you are lucky. I have picked up a CF airframe with some spares for as low as $80.00, that was a deal.

I had mine for sale for a long time too. I gave up and converted it to FBL, I fly it a lot now.

I think it is lighter than other 550s and flies really good.

It is one minor crash from done because the parts may not be available. I have a lathe and a CNC router so I may be able to make some parts, but the boom holder would be a disaster, and they do crack once in a while.

I am considering getting a used Fusion 50. At least some of the parts are interchangeable, but it is now out of production..

I have a mountain of parts so I can fly mine for a while. Planning on flying until I can't get an O550 airborne any more, then switch to a Synergy E5 or Agile 5.5. Have no plans to buy any more air frames or parts.

The more you fly the less you crash.. How many tail boom holders do you have in your stock?

If Charlie designed a lightweight 550 would you bite?

That is a big hell yes! I will be getting a 550 sized replacement eventually.

I would have to dig through all my stuff to figure that out, maybe six plus the three complete spare air frames and two in the air.
