Default raptor 60 90 conversion

im kind of fed up with my raptor60.i tried converting it to a 90 using the directions i read on a thread.i used an MAX-91SZ-H RING(60M-C),69cm radix blades.11 tooth pinion ,and a 91 tooth gear,8.27 -1,im not doing hard 3d,but the helicopter seems extremely underpowered ,it bogs down and is generally very slow to respond.i even used a thinner head gasket with a 2 plug hyper head with a muscle pipe,no drastic changes,i would give up but i spent an arm and a leg on it,plus its a beutiful bird.also im running 10 to 10 deg.on my head, any suggestions are very helpful.or else i will have to pull my aurora out of the closet prematurely.what am i doing wrong?

Im running the same engine i think. OS91 SZ-H max. Just went and counted the teeth on my pinon and main gear and I have 12 on pinon and 93 on main. (may be 91 i kept losing my place). I am running Wildcat 30% heli mix fuel and I add a little castor to each gallon. The heli has excellant power. I am doing mostly forward flight and some forward loops. Power climbs are powerful and fast.

You didnt mention if the motor you are using is new or already broke in and properly tuned. With mine, I have yet to lean out the mid range as its running a little fat when Im spooling it up at about 60% throttle. At hover my throttle curve is around 70% on my radio and engine tunes right in, runs cool does not feel boggy.

Default 60 90 conversion

the engine on the heli is just broke in,,when i lean it out i do get a better kick but at the risk of over heating, generraly i am trying to use common sence to solve my problem.what do i think i need, more power,at 8.27 i feel it may be easier on the engine to run lets say 9.1 of coarse this way i think i gain power and loose head speed, unless what i really need is a higher head speed[more torque]so the engine doesnt bog down,im resally confused can someone help me?

Btw Im running 710mm stick bangers.

I would think you need more head speed.

I'm running the same setup as AzChopp3r, .91 SZ-H with Wildcat 30% and I have plenty of power. I'm running the curtis youngblood 710mm blades. I converted mine from a 60 to a 90 as well, I don't remember which pinion i got. Whatever one came with the 90 3D kit. How hot is your engine running?

Im still leaning towards it needs head speed. The 90 can handle higher head speed without much bog. 98C is about 205F so it could be leaned a bit more but that depends on your syle of flying and longevity of the engine as 205 degrees is right in there.

I gather that your throttle and pitch curves allow for good head speed as well

There isn't much to it.
If you have the new front radio tray and lower frame, you are good. Otherwise, replace the front radio tray & the lower front frame & fan shroud with the newer version (it will fit any 60 to 120 size motor).
Get the 3D HD clutch & matching clutch bell.
You can add the bigger main fuel tank, but you don't need to do that - it adds about 2 min flight time.
There are a lot of optional things, but not too much that is mandatory.
