clueless people talking smack about helis they have no clue about. 700 exxxtreme is a bad ass pitch pumping cyclic power horse like no other with the queit smoothness mikado is known for and as for the 690sx its every bit a 700 as any orther heli on the market. appearance, power, agility and blueprint in the sky is equal or better than most other 700 size heli on the markets. i love people who talk smack about helis theyve never owned it keeps me entertained.

just in reply to a few things i read about gear train strength a page back ..a few years ago i brought the first run of scorp 4525-520kv le motors (ultimate) along with a newly released logo 600se..

and i can say from experience that it ate the main gear no problems! ...i started of with 12s and 693mm edge blades two flights two main gears destroyed ..put the old style motor shaft support on to try help with no luck tried fine tuning how i was meshing the gears adjusting them tighter or looser ..no deal! almost a main gear by the end of every hard flight and it was only beginner sport 3d the motor was just too much for the old 600se,
so eventually i went to 623mm edge and a 10s setup and had no further dramas.. amazed to see that years after i was probably one of the first to tinker with a motor that size on that gear train that mikado eventually thought of it themselves and released a solution ...seriously looking at buying this heli as ive been regreting the day i sold it ..and to have it in 690 ..drooling! love it! go mikado! ...now has anyone tried 710's on these ???

also if the new 380kv motors are less powerfull then the 4525-520 le then thats fine by me i was actually considering selling it back in the day top put a smaller motor in i think the 4525-380 would be bang on perfect for the 690's it will not seem to be lacking in power to me in the slightest

It's almost painful to answer but here I go.

Logo 600SE chews gears with 4525: Of course. I don't know where you got the info that you could use that motor on that heli.
Logo 690SX has the same drive train as 600SE: of course not.

690SX has:
- Bigger (taller) main gear
- Counter bearing support
- Double one way bearing
- Bigger pinion requirement (15t) and that's why a 380Kv is required

So an old 600SE of course can't withstand a 4525LE, a 690SX can take it all day long as long as it's 380Kv and you use 15t pinion.

Correct Marcos. You are safe with the 15t and we have been using the 14t quite a bit with the Pyro, but 15t is preferred if you have the correct Kv rated motor.

quick Q for those that have built this, I started the build and the manual says to set the motor pinion before putting the frames together and refers to page 9, where it shows using all 6 of the shims between the pinion and motor counter bearing, but states to make sure to use only one shim? What is correct

Use all six shims. The note about using one shim appears to be left-over from another manual (e.g. 550sx) where it is one tall shim instead of stacked skinny shims.

Except for weight, I'd guess? The 4530 LE is 60 grams heavier than the 4525 Ultimate. My 690sx is already nose heavy without putting a heavier-than-stock motor in it. Not that it can't be compensated for, just something to note.

Just looked at specs, 1.5 hp to every pound sounds fun.

quick question for those that have the 690sx and use a separate rx pack.
where and how are you securing the pack?

A small 2S Lipo tucks away nicely inside the compartment created by the chassis box. Also happens to be a good spot for an external BEC if you go that route.
