Pinion gear: 12T
Magnet poles: 10
(106/12)x(10/2)=44.16

This is the calculation I did.

On the still turns to the left, did you redo the esc min and max throttle. I did have this problem in several helicopters and it always seems to resolve by redoing the esc min max, skookum min max and possibly changing timing and pwm settings in the esc for the motor. Do you know what the timing and pwm as set at?
Yes, governor is on and it doesn't have a steady rpm even in hover.

I did esc throttle calibrating before this update. I will try that after re-setup from the begining.

Esc is a Scorpion Commander VI 130A OPTO. Timing is 5 degrees as Kontronik recommends. PWM setting can't be adjusted on this esc.

I did a complete setup and did a test hover. I think it need some small adjustments. And I have to do a real flight test to prove that it is working. I can't wait to fly it.

Sometimes nothing like a fresh setup to make everything right again.

Hi,

Yesterday I did 12 flights with succesful results on governor. But when I give throttle at start up, heli turns about 20 degrees on the ground. BTW, throttle starts when collective stick is more than ~%10 percent. Also after throttle hold, start up is too aggresive (more than before). Heli turned almost 360 degrees on the ground. This start up is really ignoring. I will try NHENRY's suggestion about using Hobbywing rpm sensor.

Thank you everyone for your kind help.

All of my logs would look like that with the high amplitude spike just as throttle hold was disengaged, when i used my Jeti Mezon RPM ESC with built in RPM sensor, but now it is perfect using the external Hobbywing sensor. ! I look forward to your results with your scorpion ESC

It is worth mentioning, that for me, it was not just a problem with Skookum firmware 4, I had the same issue with the last 2 firmware editions, but not in anyway blaming the Skookum unit as i do not fully understand the the problem here, i just know a workaround for now!

I think a preset fix for one ESC can fix it for one and can break it for another, so maybe in the future we could have user adjustable variables within the software for bailout!

I seems that certain Esc's with the built in RPM sensor are doing something different, compared with other standalone sensors like the hobbywing. Having a standalone phase sensor connected from the motor to the skookum unit is simple and avoids any complications of an inbuilt ESC RPM sensor being controlled by many variables within the ESC which then conflicts and becomes incompatible with the skookum FBL unit. Just thinking out loud!

Maybe someone else could provide further solid knowledge here!

Yes i see the second problematic spool here as well. Opto cable, right?

Is this the one you PM'd me - without blades? very low throttle percent.

80 low Ramp 100 high ramp are my numbers on all my ESCs they work well with all (scopr 160HV, CC120HV, YEP120HV, K-force 40A)

Rpm readings are coming from opto cable. This is the log that you see. I tried with your suggestions (80 low ramp, 100 high ramp). Your numbers give better spool up.

Well, I can say after re setting both my problematic Skooks yesterday. I did get my slow spool and great gov engagement back. I am using the HW sensors on both. In my case both helis hard starts were software glitch related. Cleaning out the Skooks and doing a manual ground up value input, plus re calibrating my esc's did the trick. Thanks for the advice here from the experts!

Hmmm...ok thanks. Could try the HW sensor.
Time to add SOLVED to thread title?

Hit the Go Advanced icon after going into the edit function to gain access to the thread title.

EDIT: NM, I see you don't have access to the edit function anymore. The edit ability times out after a certain number of days, so Georgi can fix it up for you
