G-T5 with Zeal
Has anyone tried mounting the G-T5 to a nitro heli using Zeal anti-vibration tape? I've been down the path of one piece, then two pieces of the standard tape and still get an occasional glitch of roll right. I have it mounted with Zeal now and am just wondering what to expect. TIA.

Well, I flew today using Zeal to eliminate vibration to the FBL sensors. I'm happy to say it worked! No more glitches.
There was no loss of flight precison or any other bad traits. The G-T5 flew great. I upped my P gain from 90 to 100 with this new confidence in the G-T5. My last flight of the day provided me the reason for the slight vibration that I could not eliminate and which was causing the poor performance of the G-T5 with standard tape. The one-way in the start shaft went out. I'll probably keep the Zeal after fixing the one-way since it doesn't appear to have any negative influence on the G-T5. |

Here's a link to get the Kyosho Zeal tape.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ng-Gel-1-Sheet Zeal is 5mm thich, which is thicker than the Align anti-vibration tape. It also doesn't need any strap to secure the gyro. I believe straps somewhat defeat the purpose of anti-vibration tape. There is another slicone rubber type anti-vib. tape product called Parma. It is mostly used for servos and RX installation by the RC car/truck guys. It is much thinner than Zeal (≈ 1mm) and does not require straps. This may work great on gyros too. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Tape-1x36-Roll |
