Default Has anyone tried ????

This is an Anyone tried thread,
Looking for different ideas that may be questioned, attempted or otherwise just thought of.
Maybe you tried something or just thought about it.

I am looking to find out if anyone has tried 480 blades on their stretched Protos, and how it worked?

Also wondering about other motors, Higher KV, other then the typical 3026 880 series.
Specifically considering the Xnova Tareq motor for the 380 Goblin?
Size and specs are close, Little more KV, nice! Little shorter and little wider.
I think it will fit well, also has 5mm shaft. Either use MSH adapter or possibly swap out shaft with MSH shaft?

Inquiry mind want to know

Like that initiative.

I've seen a Protos for sale here with Zeal 480 blades. I wonder how those fly.

From what I see Goblin 380 videos with the Xnova and Scorpion, seems like the Scorpion is better despite the Xnova supposedly to be better. Besides, both motors for the 380 should be less powerful/torquey than the one for the stock Protos motor. It's probably a downgrade with either motor. I would rather have a lower kV higher power 12pole motor than a higher kV lower power 10pole motor.

Have you seen that vid the guy who ran the Protos motor with 10S on his Goblin?

The stock protos motor peaks at 1420w where the Tareq 930 peaks at 1700.
Been very happy with the older Xera and now Xnova motors. Had a 380 with the 2820-890, very powerful little motor, the Tereq edition is sized as a 500 class motor. Model 3215-930. Size and specs look like a good possibility to the stock motor. Would like to see Xnova make a Protos specific motor.
Not a big fan of Scorcion motors. Hi temps and short flight times.
My Protos 500 currently has a Neu1710 in 760kv motor. Respectively 1000 continuous watts with surge of 1700. Been experimenting with this motor as it will be going in a 4 blade scale fuse, EC135. Having so much fun with it on my Protos stretch at 4-6 min, never made it into scale! LOL!

I may just pick 1 up and mod a shaft for it one of these days.

And Yes, I did see that 10s Goblin 380

I agree I think any of the g380 motors would be a down grade. The xnova tareq is 40g lighter, I guess I find it hard to believe it could be more powerful while weighing 20% less. The ratings don't mean much because the 3026-880 was rated 1450 continuous on 8s and the xnova 1280 continuous on 6s. If anything the continuous amperage could mean something since that is not as dependent on voltage as watt ratings. The xnova does have a higher continous amp rating.

I could be wrong though. If it doesn't work out you could just put 380s and a non stretch boom on it and be the same weight as a g380!

for protos 500 seem there is no xera motor that fit well like the scorpion 3226-900 with 1700w continuous and 2200w peak ;-)
