Default First plane experience, t-28 trojan

Well I am pretty decent with helis, can do solid 3d, so I figured I would try a plane for the first time. My girlfriend bought me a parkzone t-28 trojan, and wow is it fun. I might even venture to say that it is more fun than flying a heli! 100x easier though. Maybe i'll just get bored, but I had a blast. And no crashes!

The t-28 is a great plane. If you get bored add flaps and retracts and its a whole new bird. The new T-28D is to be released next month

What's the next step up from the trojan?

I'd like to stay electric.

What would be the best motor upgrade for the Trojan T-28? I went from a 3 cell lipo to a 4cell A123 which gave it a good jump in performance, but I still want more power. I've read alot about people using the Turnigy 35-36C motor with great success in their t28's, using 3 cell lipo. Does anyone know if the 35-36C works okay with 4 cell A123? Any other options for the best motor for 4 cell A123 in the T-28?

The stock T-28 with 4 cell A123 works well with no issues. If a bigger motor were installed, would i most likely have to put in a higher amp ESC. The stock ESC is 30amp.

Can anyone figure out what the extra $10 gets you? Is it just the silver paint?

The Air Force must have charged them more than the Navy did.

T-28 onboard camera flight over Gig Harbor (500-700 ft.) (1 min 28 sec)

I was taking some video from my t-28.

I'm very sad as I lost my T-28, 4 HS-65s an AR6200, Phoenix 45a, digital camera and all in the Puget Sound last week while I was filming, I don't know what happened but I gained way too much altitude, lost orientation, and then I couldn't tell whether it was coming towards me or going away, It disappeared behind a tree on a hill. I started running to find it, never did, it started to rain and I realized it was headed straight out into the sound. Probably out in the Pacific by now. This set me back a lot.

I'm pretty sad now, I put up signs just in case someone finds it. I hadn't realized there are worse things than crashing.

I'm bidding on another T-28 right now from hobb-e-mart on ebay. I guess I'll just start over and hope this doesn't happen again!

I warn you, KEEP YOUR AIRCRAFT WITHIN CLEAR VISUAL RANGE, or it may suffer a fate worse than being trampled by a herd of elephants.

No luck... It's probably lost forever...

I'm going to buy a LOST MODEL ALARM.

http://www.customelectronics.co.uk/index.htm

You can get one from this site that puts out 130db, it weighs 25g and I don't know what they cost, but this could save a lost plane, or at least give me some peace of mind when I fly now.

I just ordered a 47" edge 540 from www.3dhobbyshop.com to replace my lost plane, I'll be back in the air in a week and all will be well.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0...10ff9ddf260f6a

Click satellite!

It's been found!!!

I won't get back from Florida to get it down from the 200' tree until August.
I hope my electronics survive over 1 month of rain...

My other hobby is building pneumatic shoulder-fired cannons...

I'm going to try to get it down by harpooning the tail section with a small barbed dart fired from one of my cannons then I'll reel it in with a fishing reel.

I'm very excited to go home and watch the video recorded during that last flight!

did you find it or did someone? electronics are supposed to be OK if it is fresh water. Although having your battery plugged in for that long might not be.
