3s on the Warp
If I plug a 3s 2200mAh battery into the Warp with stock motor, it would turn the motor at half speed. Is this a correct statement? In theory I could use this 3s battery for ultra-low head speed flights. Would this create heat issues in the ESC or Motor?

The motor may or may not mind it depending on how it's wound. If it doesn't have the proper gauge of wire, the additional current draw could burn it out. The motor was designed for 6S, you'd be better of buying a different motor designed to run on 3S. |

Ok, I was just curious as I have some 3s 2200s left over from the 450X. Right now I still only have one 6s battery for the Warp so I was thinking of trying to get some use out of those other batts. Thanks!

Why not make a serial harness and turn 2 of those 3S to get a 6S 2200mah? Some guys are having problems being slightly tail heavy anyways, and I know David K was experimenting successfully with heavier / larger packs and liking it.

I do have two of them. I was being lazy, and I figured it might be just a bit too heavy. I will probably give that a try though.

They should actually balance quite nicely.

Most 3s 2200 packs are around 200g
So 2 plus a heap of connectors and wires to hook them all up would come to around 450g I think this would be fine for flying around without the canopy on. With a low head speed you could expect around 15min flight time. Now I'm going to have to try it myself. Lol. |

3s on the Warp
I have 2 x 3s 2200mah 35c brand new packs left over also. I was planning to try them. I think all of us r/c guys think alike.
12s series could also shift the weight around like using 2 x 2200. I was thinking about those 25c 3s 800-1000mah led light packs (like lightning power has).. I could string 4 of them together for 12s. Need a different motor or rewind the current one. I could put the battery weight almost anywhere I want Edit: I can also just stay 6s with the 4 x 3s packs using current motor and double mah on two of them so it'd be 1600mah or whatev

Well don't mind if I do, but I've got mine configured to do 3s - 6s as well, I'm using the 3s most of the time since I have more than half a dozen laying around. 2200-2400mah each.
Anyways, with 3s you get more current going, so instead of a standard 40amp 6s esc I used a 60amp esc. Hobbywing pentium 60A pro stripped the heat sinks and plastics put it between the frame just above the battery tray, below the upper CF plate. It fits snugly since esc board width is just a hair more than the frame.' Esc is cool to the touch after flight. And old stock motor barely warm. It's cool actually. And also I had to change gyro gains on my TX. Since if I ran 6s and used the 50% throttle curve I needed more rudder gain to head lock.... Because tail is spinning slower. When I do 100% throttle on the same 6s I get a wayyy lower gain to avoid tail wag. That worked for me! It should be same for you. It helps if you program in your gains to change when you flick the idle up switch/or governor switch. |

I tried fitting 2 3s 2200mah packs, they will fit, with the canopy off cg wasnt to bad. There is no way the canopy would fit if you wanted it to though.
