Main rotor head removal
Hi All,
I managed to break one of the arms on my swash plate and need to get the main rotor head off to replace it. I removed the two little screws that seat on the flats on the end of the main shaft but the head doesn't want to budge. I'm afraid that if I twist or pull on it too hard I'll mess something up. From everything that I have read hear it seems like replacing the swash plate isn't a big deal and everyone's main rotor head just pops off? Is there a trick that I'm missing? Thanks! |

Mine popped off relatively easy. If you removed all the proper screws and linkages, you shouldnt have a problem.

If you have removed the two screws in the head. Then with one hand hold the collar tight and and with the other pull the head straight off. Mine was also on there very tight.

If it's the 1st time removing the head, you will feel it pop off. Just use some controlled force and pull it straight. When you put it back on, you should also be able to feel it fully seat back in its spot.

Thanks guys! That was all that it needed, I was just being too careful and not using enough force.
Thanks again, Peter Peter866 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
