Default New Toys

Two new toys at Wow hobbies got me.

I will be trying the 400mah 20c linear batteries
http://www.wowhobbies.com/battery-tr...cxfpandcp.aspx

And the outrider motor for the 4g6
http://www.wowhobbies.com/turboace81...kera4g6-1.aspx

If it will work in a 4g6, it should work in a 4g3. I'll will try the batteries before I mess with the motor, see how they work with the WK motor.

Anyone else tried these? Post your findings and I will post mine sometime next week.

The battery looks longer than the stock one... wonder how it will fit in the tray and impact COG? Wish they would provide measurements!! Stats and price look good though... let us know your feedback!

Hey SQRT you can get the same packs from rotorfever.com for $6 each. They are the oversky packs. I just received 2 today and love them! They are pretty small, longer but narrower width wise than stock 10C walkera packs. They fit the battery tray ok but I will probably be doing some mods to make them fit better.

Be sure to let us know how the motor works out. I was saving for the hot rod kit with the red turbo ace motor, but if that motor makes more power I will probably change my mind. More power is always a good thing right??

The red turbo ace is crap... the hp08 on the other hand is an awesome motor.

I have installed the motor, it took a while because I had to track down a power issue that was causing me to loose bind. With my 600mah batteries, I am getting powerful flight, but the time is short. I am going to try the 400mah linear batteries tomaro. I am wondering if this motor draws too much current to be used on a 4g3 with the additional draw of the tail motor. But we will see how it works with the better batteries.

This motor is really hard to turn, I think that I have the gear spacing correct, but it is hard to turn the gear, and I am almost afraid to turn the rotor for fear of breaking it off.

Mine does not turn smoothly by hand either, but it should be able to. When I flick the rotorhead behind the pitch mixing arm, it can spin for 2-3 rotations. I think that qualifies as a good mesh.

Hum, maby I have it too tight, I will try to loosen it, that may help the flight time problem.
