Default Does everyone leave the V3 data logger installed?

Does everyone leave their V3 logger installed, or remove it once you have a profile of your setup? I have 3 helis and plan to use it on all of them, but is there any reason to leave it installed once you have the specs for your setup? Isn't it just extra weight at that point?

Leaving it installed lets you keep track of battery and motor performance.

I can see battery performance, but what changes the performance in a brushless motor?

Bad bearings cacause a n increase in current with a drop in performance.

I made connectors that are just hunging from the helicopter all the time. All it takes is plug in those connectors to the ET with no effort so it becomes removable. I don't leave the system all the time but I think it would be a good idea to put it on every so many flights (maybe 30 - 50) to compare your numbers and check on the performance. If the performance has greatly decreased then... something is obviously wrong (bearings, pack dying, ESC etc).

There ya go Merlin, that's what I thought. I have the same setup, easily removed, just attached with velcro, maybe just leaving the RPM and ESC temp sensors in place. Mine has the built in Deans connectors so I just plug ESC and battery into it and go! I agree George, bearings do fail, but I keep mine pretty well lubed with the Scorpion lube so I'm hoping they last a loooooong time!
