Default How much does Flybarless Embla really cost?

Embla Kit -- $380
Futaba Electronics -- ????
Futaba Tx -- Exclude in ARF price

Seriously, why would anyone fly an ARF Embla, if with the electronics minus transmitter, it comes to over $1K when you can get an ARF SDX with engine included....???

A flybarless controller cost $200-300 depending on brand, everything else is the same as a regular flybar setup. Remember no one ever said this hobby is cheap. Take a look at Align or E-flight helis if Hirobos are out of your price range, believe it or not $275 for an embla kit is pretty affordable compaired to like when the lepton first cae out. In this hobby you gotta pay to play!

for me im looking at it like this:

trex 450 pro - questionable quality, 3gx crap, servos crap. by the time you upgrade servos and 3gx works out more expensive. plus, ive read in a few places aligns 'carbon fiber' is of low quality, not to mention other issues with them

blade450x - beast x good, servos crap, plastic frame. again by the time you upgrade the servos, add a few aluminum bits, will probably work out about the same, but still with a plastic frame

embla - around $800, carbon frame, all aluminum gear, gy720 or vbar, good servos, quality brand. im getting one *very* soon and cant wait!

I have a Quark SG. Cost me around $700 + $150 for Futaba 6EXP Tx (this extra money well spent, difference between 6EXP and stock Futaba 5Ch Tx is like night and day). It does everything (almost evrything) an Embla can do, and I can fly it anywhere!! Problem is... Can't fly in wind > 5m/s.

I also have an Embla flybarless. It's gonna cost me $250/yr (for flight club + liability insurance) + at least $500 for 2.4GHz FASST Futaba Tx + $300-$500 for gyro + $200-$300 for servos + $50-$150 for lipo + $100-$200 for lipo charger.

So, it will cost me at least $1.75K to join a flight club and fly Embla in wind > 5m/s. Whereas, if wind was not an issue, I can have just as much fun with my Quark SG for $850 + replacement foam blades...
