Logo 550SX V2 on 7S?
I understand that there are other threads discussing using 7S on the Logo 550SX V2 helicopter. I don't want to derail those thread.
I am interested in building a Logo 550SX V2 to share my 7S batteries with my larger helis. I have a few questions: 1) The combo stock Scorpion HKIII 4025-1100 Kv with 5mm shaft motor: I understand the specs state the maximum LiPo size is 6S. What happens to this motor if I decide to use a 7S pack? 2) Pinion/gear: Using the 14T pinion would work well to yield me a max 2300rpm HS on 7S using a 1100kv motor and stock MOD 0.7 153T main gear. However, if I went with the MOD 1.0 106T main gear, I would need a 10T pinion, but the smallest MOD 1.0 pinion is 11T. This 11T pinion would yield a max HS of 2600rpm which is too high. What pinion, main gear, motor kv are 7S pilots using on this bird?

7S packs, Mod1.0 gears, 11T pinion and KDE 600XF-1100-G3
78% throttle = 2300 headspeed Actual KV of my KDE motor is closer to 1000 with JivePro using auto timing /PWM. Not sure how this would translate with a different ESC.

Very good. I already have the KDE 600XF-1100-G3 motor in my possession just sitting in my box of spare electronics. So it seems you are recommending using this motor along with the 600 SX V2 MOD 1.0 main gear, 6mm pinion support bearing, and 11T MOD 1.0 pinion. Fair enough.
I am still debating whether to use one of my spare Jive Pro 120+HV ESC's (with Jeti TelMe unit of course) or the higher Amp rated Jeti Mezon 8S 160A with Telemetry/RPM ESC since you were able to shut down the Jive Pro after hitting the 221A mark. Any thoughts on this? Also, when it comes to the 6mm ID pinion support bearing, is it just a matter of replacing the stock 5mm ID bearing with a 6mm ID bearing or do I need to also purchase a whole new 600SX motor support bearing system? If it is just a matter of replacing the bearing, what is the size of the 6mm ID bearing I need to purchase? If I need to purchase a whole new 600SX motor counter bearing system, which of the two option would I need; the $38 [04622] unit or the $47 [04623] unit? I wish the Mikado manuals would state bearing sizes like the Synergy manuals.

These instructions are for the Pyro, but are the same for fitting any 6mm motor shaft motor in the 550SX.
http://shop.mikadousa.com/assets/ima...%20Edition.pdf The JivePro is still working great for me in this heli. Shutting it down takes some seriously hard flying and collective/cyclic abuse. I know I also needed to lower the ESC's low voltage protection from 3.0v/cell. Think it's at 2.9 now?

OK. So I would need to replace just a few parts:
1) Replace the stock motor support bearing (5x13x5 I assume) with a 6x13x5 size. I would probably use the Synergy TT bearings I already have in my box of spare bearings. 2) The 04635 11T MOD1 pinion 3) The 106T [4621] MOD1.0 main gear 4) A 6x9x0.2 shim -- this is the challenging part Where do I get a 6x9x0.2 shim?

Ask MikadoUSA when you place your order. That's where I got mine.

BTW,
The calculated KV of my KDE motor (with JivePro120) is 990. Here are my telemetry measured headspeeds on 7S with 11T mod 1.0 and 106 main. throttle = headspeed 68% = 2006 73% = 2151 75% = 2212 78% = 2293

I figure I have plenty of shims of all sizes here at home. I may end up using two 6x9x0.1 shims or however many shims I need to get the proper mesh.
I am several projects behind at the moment. I may just wait for the Columbus Day sales to buy the kit unless I see one for a good price here on the forums. Yes. I always end up with a head speed which is about 75rpm less of whatever I calculate using the MrMel HS calculator.

I was just going over the thought of a 7s build today actually.
I was looking at the 4025-830kV XNova paired with 13T Mod 1 pinion, and 106T main gear conversion. Puts you at 2260 with VBar Governor for best performance.

BTW, I was going to place the order on the AMain website with my 10% off promotion, but the Logo 550SX V2 is now out of stock.
