Default How loose should the tail gear case be?

Just like to first say hi to everyone. This is my first of probably many posts.

I just got my new MX450 from Tower today (it was a steal at 249.00-30.00 pluse a rebate!) and have began the intial "looking it over". I notied that right out of the box the tail gear case mount is loose on the carbon fiber tail boom. I've tried tightening the two screws that, I guess are susposed to "pinch" the case to the tail boom, but they are just about as tight as I can get them without risking stripping the screw heads and the case is still fairly easy to twist on the tail boom. Any suggestions or is this acceptable?

I remember reading somewhere that the tail rotor rotates at about 10-12K rpm. At that speed, I sure would think that the tail case shouldn't move a bit!

Thanks,

Mike

Too late...

Tried tightening the case screws (pan head 2x14 mm) and the upper one broke Now the case is real loose!

Looks like this part is going back to Champaign, IL.

Oh well... I'm sure its not the last thing on this bird thats gonna break!

In the case of the aluminium tail , tail case rotation is fixed by "roughening" the mesh points ( where it enters the plastic blocks) with a file. Don't know if this works for carbon tail boom. It should.
