I love my two Outrage 550 BUT...... and hope to see the parts in stock soon.
I don't need it now but like many other persons, I think that it is much more stressful to fly them in knowing this problem.

Which person enough wise will buy another Outrage products knowing that the parts will be very difficult to find after only a few years or until it come out a new model ?
I think that this is not a good way to establish a good reputation in a long run.
They should support their happy customer before their new customer because an happy customer usualy support and buy other products of a compagny.

Sure hope so. An official word either here or on their website would do wonders to stop the speculation.

I had been figuring on my next (bigger) bird being the 550 since so many love it and i tend to get a bit "brand loyal" when i find something i like. It wont be any time soon, but I have been spending more time looking at the X5 since this whole parts thing started down here in outrage land.

I think I'd need tangible actions, rather than words - official or otherwise, to restore my faith.

eg an adequate supply of G5 parts, and the CF kits they promised.

Not sure what you try to get but I just looked it up and see most parts are available. The 550 has some critical parts such as main shaft and main gear on back order. The G5 has almost everything available. So if you have issues getting parts - could you be a bit more specific? I am sure they try to get demand fulfilled.

If I go to http://helidirect.com/outrage-g5-c-1_38_568_569.hdx ;

These are out of stock:
ERG5005 OUTRAGE EPT XL 1700kv 3.17mm brushless motor
RG50099 OUTRAGE Complete Precision CNC Head System
RG50318-SS OUTRAGE Metal Tailrotor Drive Bearing block Assembly
RG50321-SS OUTRAGE Frame Spacer Set
RG50880CFL-03 G5 Flybarless Linkage Rods & Ends

Various other parts are 'only one left'.I agree that "The G5 has almost everything available" - but that's not really the point. I want to be confident I can get what I need, when I need it.

http://helidirect.com/outrage-rc-c-1_29_571.hdx lists no G5 (or 550) kits.

I've got a stock-pile of kits and parts, so I'm not currently looking for stuff.

Also, regrettably, this experience has left me looking for an exit strategy. Probably to Align.

Great design; good build quality; good parts/kits availability. I want all three. The G5 certainly has the first one...

fwiw..

I had this nasty feeling...When Charlie left...That this wasn't going to end well....I'm especially unhappy because the G5 is a wonderful idea and design.....But I can't handle the dissembling I see from Outrage and its staff....If they continue down this road they are toast...

John.

If you really get in the mood to run a similar heli, the CNC heli version is very similar.

Except that the features of the G5 that (arguably) really matter are the programmable head, and the 350mm blades.

The CNC 450 seems to have 325s and an old-style T-Rex 450 type head.

if anyone is interested I still have a few 550 parts left in my inventory that I will sell as a lot. I know there is a few Delrin main gears, tail booms, flybars, and maybe a few other things. Anybody interested just PM me.

You could always do this kit:
http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet...50F/Categories
and buy a mars 480 tail boom:
http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet...50F/Categories

I run a RJX flybarless head, so the programmable head doesn't effect me.
There is also the option of just buying a Mars 480 kit if you really wanted to stay in the stretched 450 size heli range. I've found that the 1300mah packs tend to balance pretty well in most 450 and 450 stretch helis.
